Abstract
The investigation of cotton and eucalyptus fibers sheets treated with different historical writing inks, prepared using according old recipes, have done. The paper sheets were immersed into the different ink solutions. The separate samples were run each ink and paper (eucalyptus and cotton) combination of samples and ageing conditions. The 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES, as deacidification agent), potassium iodide or tetrabutylammonium bromide (N(C4H9)3Br) and KI as antioxidants) solutions in 2-propanol were used as stabilization system for inked paper. The pH measurements, degree of polymerization (DP) data and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis data confirm that ageing is more destructive to the inked paper. The results of experiments indicate that stabilization system KI/APTES have positive effect for bare paper and ink damaged paper.
